How to make cheap sturdy poles for supporting lights, backdrops etc.

You need a plastic bucket or big paint-can, concrete and a pole.

Mix up some concrete according to the directions on the bag. Once your concrete is ready pour it into the bucket. Take a wooden stick, a water pipe or a broomstick and sink it into the center of the concrete. Adjust the pipe or stick while the concrete is still wet to make sure it's straight  (you can do this by using a level). Wait one or two days to let the concrete dry. These light stands are heavy and sturdy.
